When you walk into Sculpt Pilates Studio, you will notice a variety of equipment. The Reformer is the main apparatus. It uses your own body weight, springs and straps to increase or decrease the challenge. The Fuse Ladders, Bosu balls, jump boards, and Bodhi suspension systems are additional pieces of equipment used in class. They all add variety and constant challenges to each class. If you opt for Private session, you will have the opportunity to use a Pilates Chair and a Pilates Cadillac machine.
We offer a variety of package options for our clients. Please review our memberships to find the right one for you. If you're not finding something that works for you, contact us so we can work with you to find something that fits your budget.
Water bottle – It is always a good idea to stay hydrated! Pilates is low impact, but you will probably work up a sweat.
Towel – Bringing a sweat towel isn’t required, but we encourage to bring your own if you think you’ll need it.
Grip socks – Grip socks are a great way to make sure you don’t slip on the equipment, mats or floor during your workout. We supply grip socks at the studio if you don’t have your own. Going barefoot is also fine – do what you are comfortable with!
Most importantly, bring a positive attitude to your class.
Workout clothing: We encourage workout clothing that is form fitting and stretchy. Your instructor needs to see the alignment of your bones and your muscle engagement. Choose workout gear that is free of ties, belts, metal and plastic. Ties, belts, drawstrings and tassels can get caught in equipment and cause injury. Zippers, buckles, clasps, and buttons can severely damage the upholstered Pilates equipment.
Remove accessories and jewelry: long necklaces, belts and dangling bracelets can be distracting and dangerous if they get caught in the equipment.
Remove footwear: Pilates is usually done barefoot, so no shoes are needed. Wear a pair of grip socks if you prefer to wear socks.
Tame your hair: If your hair is long, make sure it is tied back out of your face.
During any Pilates session, you may find yourself shaking when executing various exercises, and that shaking is exactly what helps strengthen your muscles and joints. Pilates challenges stabilizing muscles that aren’t regularly activated during daily activities, so they will fatigue quickly, and you may shake or feel a burn in your body. It’s common in Pilates to feel sore the next day, usually in places you’ve never felt sore before!
